Had we not had Covid and the racial tensions build in 2020, I wonder if he would have continued to love playing for the Jazz. But it was clear he turned on the fanbase, thinking the entire state was a bunch of racist white supremacists. Also didn’t love how he couldn’t figure out how to gel with Rudy. Rudy is a good, genuine dude - so it makes me think Donovan had a bigger ego than his public persona would suggest.
Ultimately I think Donovan is a pretty good guy who is/was just a bit young, immature, and naive in some aspects. He was one of my favorite Jazz players to watch and grateful for the fun memories, but don’t really care about his career one way or the other.
