Let me say more succinctly. People were surprised that Pope was a jerk going out

the door. But the signs were already there (e.g., all the transfers to UVU, Erickson to Utah, the fallout with one of the top AAU coaches in Utah, etc). Trey’s situation was just the one that was most out in the open. But a lot of people stuck their heads in the sand.
