I feel the same frustration as many of you feel. We feel betrayed mostly by the NIL and what is has done to ruin the collegiate atmosphere of the past. I have had to come to grips that collegiate sports are now the minor league system of basketball and football—participants deserve to be paid for their efforts, and how much the sponsoring institutions, sponsors, and television rights will pay them is beyond our control. I will not ever attend a collegiate game again. The cost is too much. If I ever spent the money for a pricey ticket again it would be to a top tier game, not a pricey minor league event. I have better things to do in my life now than worry about sports. Loved the Cougs in the 70s and 80s, but have weaned myself away. Athletes do deserve to be paid, but I will not be one to support collegiate sports anymore.
