Hall / Saunders updates
There has been some good intel on the board shared by others - thank you.

Saw the Hall comment on wanting what Khalifa got ($300/yr for 2) and that actually makes sense to me based on what I know for Big 12 NIL market.

The "watching Saunders pacing outside his apt" post was kind of hilarious (albeit a bit stalker-y and a reminder of what it's like to be an athlete ANYWHERE - high stress and tough to stay out of the public's eye, particularly in smaller college towns like Provo).

Anyway, I am NOT involved in any direct convos with either Hall / Saunders but I am speaking to people who are.

Net/Net, my info effectively corroborates what we already know: Neither is a lock. Hall is MORE likely a returner but it's by no means certain.

Saunders getting HUGE Kentucky/Pope sell. My guess is $ will be higher there than what we can (or even should) offer. I think it's down to us vs. UK at this point.

I'm not sure he's going to the NBA (I'm no talent scout but my personal opinion is he wouldn't make an NBA roster, I hope I'm wrong). If I were thinking about maximizing my earnings / future for a young family, the idea of making $300-400k a year (random range) is pretty incredible / attractive. I mean that's a ton of money for ANYONE, let alone someone in their young 20's.

And yes, NIL sucks. It's changing the game. It's ruining things. But it's the new paradigm and if we don't "play the game" we won't be able to compete / be a good program over the long run.

Lastly, gun to my head, I'd RATHER have Hall (we need him more at point), but obviously would want both back. I just don't expect that to happen. I really hope I'm wrong.
