That's simply not the correct way to look at it, though.
Had BYU been a 4 seed, they would have been a 4 seed in East or West region and the assigned the SLC location.
You could argue that it would require reassigning Auburn to Spokane instead of SLC, but that would be a very minimal impact compared to dropping BYU from a 4 to a 6 seed.
