The guy sold a basically worthless broadcast.com to yahoo for 5.7 billion at the height of the .com bubble. That was $10,000 per user at the time. Yahoo shut it down less than 3 years later.

Then he goes and buys the Mavericks and has a 10x return on that investment.

I can’t tell if he’s smart and lucky or stupid and lucky. But definitely lucky.
