family trips in years past and has stated that she wants to leave memories instead of money. They do have some family 'heirlooms' that they'll leave. But about 10 years ago, they had all of us kids come over and handed us each a page of different colored stickers. (One color for each kid)

We went around the house and put our stickers on anything we wanted. If there was already a sticker there, you could move on or discuss it with the sibling who 'beat you to it'. It was a great thing to do and now we know there won't be any disagreements.

My in-laws, OTH, don't plan anything - ever. I could see some hurt feelings with my wife and her siblings when it all goes down.
