I did a DIY permanent install. It’s a large install of almost 4000 LEDs across 135 meters. I spent maybe $3k plus a lot
of time (it took longer than I anticipated). But it’s fun to have. Just today I decided that I would switch from the traditional looking multicolored lights to a red/white candy cane look. And then my daughter helped find the spacing and grouping that she liked the best.

I’m not a fan of flashy or loud animations. 90% of what I do is just a static color pattern. Occasionally I will do some gentle gradient or chasing lights.
