BYU has good shot at BCS -not as hard as you think
First off, Hawaii would need to lose to Washington and of course, BYU needs to beat SDSU.

Then we need just the following help:

If UCLA beats USC and ASU loses to Arizona (very possible both games), then UCLA is going to the Rose Bowl and is the Pac-10 conference champ.

This then puts the following BCS rule of one non-BCS team getting an automatic at-large bid as long as they are in the top 16 into effect (see rule below):

3. One team from among the champions of Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference, the Mountain West Conference, the Sun Belt Conference, or the Western Athletic Conference automatically qualify for a BCS game if either: A. Such team is ranked in the top 12 of the final BCS Standings, or, B. Such team is ranked in the top 16 of the final BCS Standings and its ranking in the final BCS Standings is higher than that of a champion of a conference that has an annual automatic berth in one of the BCS bowls.

As long as Tennessee loses to LSU along with ASU and Hawaii, we are then in the Top 16 and have a higher BCS ranking than UCLA, as they are the Pac-10 champion.

Let me know what you think.
