best win. stands to reason that both the other teams could very well lose one score games on the road to kansas or osu. (heavily impacted by refs and weather as well).
OU best win was hands down undeniably better than either team Ole miss lost to. Ole miss’ best win just lost to a team OU beat by 3 scores. OU has a top 5 offense, largely because of the pass game. OU ran 50 times that game. OU could’ve easily won by 50 if venables wanted to. OU beat 2 conference champions, including the champion of the best conference.
OUs best win better than at least one team penn state lost to.
seems pretty clear that OU would be ahead of ole miss and penn state. there’s arguments for penn state to be over ole miss but i’d probably put ole miss ahead of penn state.
but what happened? OU gets left out. Why? one was in the big ten, one was in the sec, and one was in the big 12. what was the best conference? big 12. sec 2nd. big ten was awful as always.
but who has the biggest brands? sec. and the big ten is old money. bunch of programs that were good 50 years ago but haven’t been good since. sec just has a bunch of huge fan bases and 2 teams that carry the conference. i mean freaking missouri has been to the sec championship as much as LSU, and they were a bottom feeder most of the time in the big 12.
OU averages a schedule tougher than 80% of the sec. big ten didn’t have a single top 10 schedule this year, half the big 12 had top 10 schedules. but it doesn’t matter what happens on the field if you aren’t in the big ten or sec. just moving the goalposts. it was P5 vs G5. now its P2 vs G2.
