Jaime Shepherd plays the 6-spot as a sole defensive middie, and her last four or five games have been her worst of the season. She has been a stalwart all year long, and for her entire career, but she's given away more balls the past handful of games than she had all season prior. I wonder if she's nursing an injury? But with Mozingo and Wade-Katoa eschewing basically all defensive responsibilities, a lot rests on Shepherd's shoulders. She HAS GOT to be a calming influence the wings/middies can play back to, and a force through which the defenders can counter. She has the most important job on the pitch, in my opinion.
