Honestly, dude probably could afford tickets, but decided against the price.
Like most things in life. . . Most people could afford to buy an awesome Truck or a BMW, but doing so would cause their budget in other places to suffer. Possibly lead to them not putting money towards retirement or other better pursuits etc.
This guy probably has enough money to go to the game, but decided he didn't want to keep spending money to go to each game.
