Since we live in the same state, I will say that BCB2 has the correct approach since 99% of the drivers here have the
same mentality.
If someone is in a hurry (me typically), that’s their problem.
When I’m on a country road where the speed limit is 45, then I usually keep it around 59 while everyone else is good at 44.
Turn left while the light is yellow or wait a couple minutes for the green arrow to come back around? You can guess how my approach differs from everyone else.
