Many of us say dumb, emotionally charged things in the heat of moment

that are more thinking/venting out loud than anything. There's nothing rational about feverishly waiting for most of the year for a few short moments of kids playing a game, but we understand it for what it is.

But I suppose it makes others feel good to publicly elevate themselves above it.
