Help me understand how NIL works. I understand that if I'm Joe Isuzu, and I own
an Isuzu dealership, I can have the star QB for my local college shoot a commercial for me, and in exchange I can give him a bag of cash plus the keys to a lightly used Trooper.

But let's say I don't own a car dealership, or a business of any type. I'm fabulously wealthy because my grandfather had oil wells in Texas. I don't really contribute anything to society other than conspicuous consumption, but I have a million dollars I want to pay to the star QB. How is it legal for me to hand a bag of cash to the QB. Is it basically just write "NIL" on the side of the bag, and, boom, it's now all legal?
