Also, doesn't look like a Marmot based on the tail.
A Marmot's tail is typically long enough to be conspicuous in that picture and it is not. It is possible that the tail is hidden underneath so still not conclusive, but the Common Porcupine has a shorter tail as appears to be the case in the photo.
