...conference as the U, I think the Big 12 would rather pick up UA,ASU, Utah and firm up its cultural / geographic footprint in that region. That would make them strong enough to pick up ACC leftovers on the east coast in the next round. I don't see UConn getting a Big XII invite at any point, unless they add another 2 east-coast schools at the same time.
