Dog is in a cage all day and when we go to take him out, he gets super angry and flares his teeth. Coming out of the cage he’s pissed and runs at me.

Today he was trying to bite me coming out. He calms down after a second while he’s out after I back up, but he’s ornery the whole time. We let him run outside in their backyard for an hour or so but it’s hot outside.

Putting him back in the cage he gets pissed. My HCBW holds a dog bacon strip on the other side of the cage while I quickly lock the cage quickly, which then he promptly gets pissed and barks loud showing his teeth.

What would you do? It gives us anxiety. Our neighbors are super nice people but we just will not be doing this again.

I’m afraid if I flinch at all at this dog that he’ll full on bite me. Not sure on the breed. Definitely not a pit bull but he’s aggressive and ornery.

I’ve never had a dog, so no idea how to handle this.
