Release out of Deer Creek, but I see that it is still running high. I'm coming to the area from Southern California and am wondering if it's too dangerous with flood hazards to run in a white water kayak? I'm a moderately experience kayaker, doing a relatively remote multiday run on a Class III River with one single Class IV rapid. I know that the Provo is usually a lazy float so I don't expect too much more than just fast water, and the omnipresent trestle crossing.
Was there an avalanche down at Bridal Veil Falls, this would be my preferred take out point if it's accessible and not clogging with debris in the river.
Alternatively, I was thinking about visiting cascade springs if the weather is nice. Is it just crazy up there right now? Is the water too high to allow for an enjoyable/pretty walk? I'm not really interested in disaster area observation.
