I can't believe Tunisia isn't better known as a tourist destination. Roman ruins, medieval fortresses, great food. I slept in the house they used for Luke Skywalker's uncle and aunt's house in the first Star Wars movie. A lot of the old set stuff was still there, and it was $5 an hour. I also took a camel trek through the Sahara.

For Japan, I didn't have anything against the place, it just wasn't a priority, but my son wanted to go, and I told him I'd take him if he got a full ride scholarship. It way exceeded my expectations. We're going back this summer with the whole family.
