Extra reason to watch Japan vs Mexico tonight: Japan is starting SP Roki Sasaki. Future MLB star.
He’s 21. He throws 100 mph. Last year he threw a perfect game in the NPB with 19 Ks, and then the next time out threw 8 perfect innings before being pulled.
Some have described him as Ohtani if he focused completely on pitching.
It will be quite awhile until he is likely to be posted to MLB, most likely, so this is the big chance to watch him pitch against MLB level talent before he ultimately signs for a $200-300m+ deal.
