BAYLOR
Ole Miss

Both old southern schools established a year apart. Ole Miss - 1844 & Baylor - 1845.
Both universities have Georgian-style architecture.
Oxford, MS is 1.5 hours to Memphis/Waco is 1.5 hours to Dallas.
These fanbases have special tailgating experiences. Ole Miss has The Grove and Baylor tailgates on boats in the Brazos River.
Each school has large Southern Baptist enrollment.


BYU
Penn State

(Because BYU is so unique, this was kinda "out-of-the-box". Share which P5 school you would choose.)
Similar school colors and mascots.
Although Penn State has more success on the football field, both schools have at least one national championship and a Heisman Trophy winner.
Provo and State College have much of the same in the outdoors and nature.
Both universities are known for having respectable fanbases.
BYU and Penn State boast high academic standards.

Louisville

Cincinnati and Lousiville are 1.5 hours apart
UC all time football record is .522 and Louisville's is .522.
Neither school is a stranger to the Final Four with Cincinnati's 6 appearances and Louisville's 10.
Both were conference rivals in MVC, C-USA, and Big East.
Both Louisville and Cincinnati are gritty industrial towns on the Ohio River.

IOWA STATE
Nebraska

Nebraska has, by far, the better football program but both fanbases are passionate and fill up the stadium win or lose.
Iowa State and Nebraska Midwestern schools that were in the same conference for over 100 years.
Ames is 3.5 hours from Lincoln, NE.
Corn is the most farmed crop for both Iowa and Nebraska.
Both universities used to be AAU members.

KANSAS
Duke

Kansas and Duke are two historic basketball blue bloods - duh.
Both schools are AAU.
KU and Duke are both known for their attractive campuses.
Both football programs have struggled with under .500 all-time records.


OKLAHOMA STATE
Arkansas

Oklahoma State is the closest P5 school to Arkansas (3.5 hours apart).
The pair are competitive in most sports.
Stillwater and Fayeteville share Southern Baptist as the most common religion.
Both schools have excellent baseball programs and facilities.

TCU
Oklahoma

Fort Worth and Norman are 2.5 hours away (and their football teams only played 10 times before TCU joined the B12 in 2012)
Both TCU and Oklahoma have cowboy cultures.
Oklahoma is a football blue blood with a better fanbase, but both schools have a rich football history with Heisman winners and national championships.

TEXAS TECH
Tie: Texas A&M and Mississippi State

TTech and Mississippi State:
Two Southern agriculture universities surrounded by cotton fields.
Both schools use cowbells during football games.
Rowdy fanbases and competitive in most sports.
Texas Tech and Mississippi State have good baseball programs that make it to CWS regularly.
Southern Baptist is the most popular religion for Lubbock and Starkville.
Mike Leach coached football at both schools.


WEST VIRGINIA
Virginia Tech

Two Appalachian rival schools are 4.5 hours away.
WVU and Virginia Tech have similar football success.
WVU - has been AP ranked 306 times with 774 all time wins. VTech - AP ranked 311 times and 766 all time wins.
Both universities were founded over 150 years ago 5 years apart.
VTech and WVU were Southern Conference and Big East conference rivals.
