I am great with having an honor code, but hate that players can still get a Temple recommend but not be Honor code compliant. I also am really against any board being involved in the repentance process and dealing worthiness, even after a Bishop or other religious leader (non members) has given an endorsement. BYU finally came out and started to recognize that the campus tattle tell boxes were not good, and neither was anonymous accusations, usually from some self righteous student that didn’t like athletes and had an inferiority complex.
I understand involving the HC office with things like cheating, grades, attendance, ect, but they should never be involved in investigating whether a student is living the word of wisdom, law of chastity, or anything a Bishop should be assisting with. It would be very simple to just make it that temple recommend level rules be the standard. If you are worthy enough to enter God’s house, you are worthy enough to attend his university.
