I froze my credit 7 years ago after someone tried to open a credit card account

in my name. Haven’t had a problem since. And you’re right, it’s quick and easy to do. But I always forget about the freeze when I apply for new credit and have to unlock it for a day so institutions can run my credit.

It prevents anyone (including you) from opening new lines for credit using your social. If you want new lines of credit

Sorry that happened. There are 3 links there. You need to block your credit with each of the 3 agencies.
