House had been stripped and heavily damaged. Appliances, Lighting fixtures removed, whole house sound system stripped walls damaged, no maintenance on the property They had a son the age of my sons so they were in the same priest's quorum. The family had been in the ward for 12 - 13 years. It was extremely awkward. Fortunately 6 months in, the ward was split. But old timers always referred to our house as the ------ house (it was a fairly distinctive property) To add a twist the previous owner was the brother of our previous Bishop from the ward we moved out of & with whom we were very close.

After being in the house a couple of years a new mutual friend of my wife's and the previous owner asked if we would be interested in some custom light fixtures the were made specifically for our Master bedroom?

We passed.... 🙄

Good news is I stole the house for less than half the original note and sold it for 3 x purchase price. It was a great blessing for us
I miss my space, views, cows, pool, chickens and space for my Doberman, but now I am a BYU season ticket holder and fly up to Provo for the games...
