If people are so upset by a 3 hour or 1 day posting ban

I think you're doing something right. It has to be a true addiction if someone is getting upset about not being able to post for a few hours. You can still read everything, which is the most important part...you just can't open your big mouth for a few hours.

I think the balance is good.
