My grandma used to steal a few bites of raw ground beef while making patties.
Like I do with cookie dough. It was an old Idaho thing or something.

If you take your burger rare, you may as well just eat raw ground beef.

If you’re bad enough at cooking that you can’t tell the difference between raw and medium rare, medium’s a good choice.

I mean, not really. The more you break down meat, the more likely it is to be exposed to bacteria.

When I order a burger at a restaurant, fast-food or otherwise, I usually order it medium.

If you have a food safety certification, then you know it's not really a matter of how good you are at cooking.

Rare ground beef seems pointless. It’s not like it makes it more tender. More juicy, I guess, but I’ve had juicy burgers

I don't eat raw ground beef, but in Korea they have some GREAT raw meat dishes!

Medium rare for steaks. 150 for hamburger. Cooking over 150 does nothing

If you're cooking it to 150, it's not medium rare. That's the point.

I’m just saying most people think they have to cook a burger to 165.

There's a fine balance for sure, you don't want to eat a piece of burnt rubber.
