Later in the article it points out that they haven't signed a Home-and-home with a non P5 since the new AD arrived.
As an Aggie fan, I hope they continue to slide away into oblivion. The fact that they won't schedule with USU - a team that would be a boost to the OOC schedule and provide better fan attendance than almost any other game besides BYU - is enough to say "screw 'em." Then add to that the fact they poached Smith (have to admit I'm glad it's not working at all) and I am loving this. They truly seem to think that since they're P5 that they're above playing anyone that doesn't have that same designation. Would I like to see USU and Utah play again? Sure. But there's no way Utah State is doing a 1 and done with those chumps. We have a better team and better fan support.
