I’m not saying the burger cook will suddenly step into an executive role, despite the straw men you keep trotting out. But mass retirements mean that those retirees’ roles open up. So if one was, say, in senior management then someone in junior management may get promoted sooner. And someone else may then get accepted into a manager trainee role. And so on, with people ultimately looking to always move up a rung. And if more people leave than enter the work force, it will ultimately be the bottom rungs that are the hardest to fill, because nobody wants those jobs if they have better options.
Of course I’m explaining a simplified version of all this, but you comparing what I’m saying to “insinuating oil and gas workers can just go get programming jobs if we rely on green energy” just tells me you’re not interested in honestly discussing this. So I’m done and if you want to respond be my guest, you’ll get the last word which I guess some people consider winning.
