all my roommates didn't want to go, but I really, really, really felt a strong need to go to this dance at the Provo Boys and Girls Club. I'm not very outgoing and do better in a group setting not going off on my own in social settings, but I did something I'd never done before and went to the dance by myself.

Saw this little hottie playing pool in the game room adjacent to the gym where the dance was. As soon as the game she was in was over, I made my move and challenged her. Played a game or two, tried to make her laugh, then I played it cool for awhile before asking her to slow dance towards the end of the dance (turns out later, she wanted me to ask her sooner, but you know, gotta keep 'em waiting and not show too much desperation).

Turns out I knew her roommates a little, and soon she asked me to the girls Preference dance for our first real date with her roomies and their dates. and it was the end of my single life. got married about 18 months later.
