Roof (as in hoof) is definitely a Utah thing
Where I grew up, everyone pronounced it that way. After living all over the country, I've had to try pretty hard to change some of my pronunciations so that I don't stick out like a sore thumb.

I grew up in Utah and I’ve always said roof (as in proof). Maybe it’s more local than Utah.
