consider going, given the current surge in Covid happing everywhere? I've looked up numbers and the US and most states are seeing a definite upswing in cases. Current case rate is higher than March/April of last year when everything shut down. Death rates are also increasing, but no where near as fast, and wildly lower than during any of the surges last year. In many other countries, the uptick is even stronger. It's hard to know how long this current swing will last nor how far it will go - none of the graphs have anything indicating any leveling yet.
We are 70, in fairly good health, and got vaccinations back in February. But no one wants to be sick, and cruise ships often seem like big petri dishes. That said, we love to cruise, and this "deal" is to places we've never been and want to visit. And we haven't gone anywhere in 18 months. It's time to get out live some more.
I know you can't and shouldn't decide for us, but I'd like your opinions. My current thinking is that we may just need to wait a while longer before cruising.
