the Hotel Aurora in Ribeirao Preto for our first night in the country. There was a community bathroom/shower area for the hotel as the rooms were just that, rooms. Even though we were warned to put the used toilet paper in the waste basket one Elder from Las Vegas just couldn't bring himself to not flush it. That evening there was a flood in the bathroom and a couple of inches of water in there that wouldn't go away. No one used they toilets until later the next day at the bus station, and I am pretty sure no one showered that first night because you would be standing up to your ankles in backed up sewage water to do it. It was a nice welcome to the country and everything was better from there on out!
