Around the corner from my house - there was a crew fixing the railroad at a crossing. The work was left unfinished over the weekend. The area was blocked off with "Road Closed" signs so people wouldn't drive over it and mess up the work they did.
As you can guess people didn't heed the signs and drove around the signs. There was no need to drive through as it didn't cut any neighborhood off from any road - but it might save the people 3 minutes to cut through there instead of hitting the next road over. A worker heard about it and went out to check the damage. According to his Facebook post he was more annoyed and surprised that people wouldn't heed the signs especially since it didn't block anyone's entrance or exit and it will cost about 3 hours extra of labor.
It just seems to me that selfishness is on the rise more than anything.
