Boise State (I graduated from BYU and BSU) got hit for institutional lack of control for these things:
1. 2 Belgium BSU players who had come to Boise as high school exchange students were loaned or given cars (really crappy less-than-$1000 cars) by their HOST FAMILIES.
2. An assistant tennis coach payed for a recruit's English lessons so that she could qualify to enroll (heaven forbid we actually care about or help students).
For those two things BSU lost IIRC 10 football scholarships for 2-3 years.
Of course, everyone knows the real violation BSU committed to be given such harsh penalties: winning 2 Fiesta Bowls without permission.
Of course, BYU was nailed for Nick Emery because it wasn't about Nick Emery. It's about power and being in the club. We aren't in the club and we never will be.
