Hedge funds decided to keep their shorts on even after Gamestop partnered with Microsoft and GME changed their business model. Yet still, there were more shorts than outstanding stock. I'll repeat this. More shorts than outstanding stock. That is a mob mostly made up of hedge funds traders. Trading on "margin" is extremely risky and they knew this. If the shorts are forced to stop playing their ridiculous games that is a good thing. They'll think again before going all in on a short.
