At 6:05 p.m., a report surfaced that BYU countered UW’s offer to play in Seattle with an offer to play the game in Provo — so long as UW could guarantee it wouldn’t ditch BYU for Utah if the Utes came available. Cohen said UW never was presented with such an offer and that the Pac-12 was operating on the school’s behalf at that point. But she does know the conference wasn’t going to allow UW to play on the road. “That was a non-starter for our league,” she said. “Other issues around it, there could have been more flexibility. But hearing that — again, that didn’t come to me. I didn’t reject an offer. Washington was never engaged in those conversations directly. That was handled at the conference level.”
Monday is when the report surfaced, and if true what was BYU thinking trying to go against the Pac 12s policy to play non conference games at home. Again Cohen didn’t hear that directly from BYU but she said it was a non starter for the PAC12.
Monday is when the Washington AD said she started looking for another team which was SDSU
BYU balking on Monday is absolutely not a moot point. It is the point. The PAC 12 had interest and were trying to make it happen.
But BYU wanted to wait, Wanted the game in Provo.
