It is a software development position. We are specific in what we were looking for, and the resume did list some skills that we are in need of. Unfortunately, the relevant experience section was all elaborate fluff. There was not a single example of using any of the dev tools he had listed.
Sadly, six of the resumes were all 40 year old dead enders. If you live in the tech world, you need to stay current and technical. If you switch to management, testing, or documentation/training, it is extremely difficult to go back to development
