My guess is he get a pension based on his first 30 years of service and
Then after that Boeing got rid of its traditional pension so he didn’t get his last few years of service don’t get put into the pension formula.
That’s just my guess.

That's correct. I collected credits for a pension for the first 30 years. Then it stopped. I can now choose when I want
