And Harlan needs to be given immense & genuine credit for that.
Frankly, I sympathize with any HC or AD that feels it an expediency to impose the standard penalty in an instant like this. As much as many want to side with the kids in these situations, the fact remains Lohner really put the yewt program in a bind by switching in the very untimely fashion he did. What he did is NOT something any sports program out there wants to feel helpless against controlling.
So personally I take Harlan's move as a sign he's very much about healing the relationship between our schools. And we as fans should probably be of the mindset to act accordingly. I realized the yewt program has in the recent past given us a lot of reason to think very spitefully towards them (& I indeed have), but genuinely gracious moves like this should inspire us to start thinking in more gracious terms, too, probably.
