It was very close voting, and both he and Hubie Brown did incredible things that year.
Jerry would've been a totally appropriate winner that year, but then we'd be having the same conversation about how Hubie Brown should've won.
He's an all-time great coach, no doubt. He got a ton of production out of some mediocre players. But I'm not sure there's a single year where you can really say he got jobbed.
