220K was 10 days ago. In the beginning Fauci reported that this would not
have a significant impact in the US - suckered in by WHO and China early reports. Then when he realized he was 100% wrong, he began to preach social distancing and that millions could die if we did not take strong measures.
Social distancing in the extreme was probably a good thing until we learned more, got better prepared to test, got supply chains ramped up for PPE and vents, and got some experimental medications approved.
All at the expense of herd immunity. Herd immunity is the only way it of this mess. It will be time to rip off the bandaid soon - probably May 1st in stages. Based on actual data at that time. Models are terrible. Data should drive decisions.
