Regardless if we believe China or not. Their actions to slow this down demonstrate that they were willing to shut everything down completely to preserve the future.

Is the US willing to do it? What's acceptable, 3 million infections and 60k dead or 30-50 million infections and 1 million dead in 3 to 6 months. That's not a bad flu number. That many deaths that close together would disrupt everything.

I'd rather be in a US hospital than anywhere else in most scenarios. But with that type of pressure it would be the last place I want to be and that's why it's important to discuss now getting prepared.

This is affecting already supply chains. Companies will have to shut down or cut back operations. People who live paycheck to paycheck will struggle. Sure no one wants to think negatively but reality may require us to act now before it gets bad.
