Even our young kids understand what this means, or rather they understand that there will be no help if they're not actually doing their part to help themselves and making dumb money decisions based on poor impulse control and cravings.

I believe there's a reason the Church is starting to focus more on self-reliance. We're entering an age of entitlement and looking for the handout because it can't possibly be my fault that I'm penniless, jobless, homeless and hopeless.
