We have borrowed money from my in-laws and paid back with low interest. When I lend money, I give with the intention of never getting back. We have had a few situations where we got burned and now we only lend when it will do good. We won’t lend to people who we know will ask for more in a month or so, many people just ask everyone they know and pool the money.

We try to be in the attitude of “because I have been given much” as often as we can. In law lending to/borrowing from is complicated. Glad to be out of that situation. Good luck and pray, you will be surprised at the answers you get.
