Ed Eyestone is the "boss" as the director of Track and Field and XC. That is how
it is commonly done. There is a director that coaches one gender and a coach that coaches the other gender. Just like in football when they make someone an Associate Head Coach to pay them more and show a bump in prestige, BYU made Taylor Associate Director for similar reasons from what I've read.
