Even if ND had been ahead of UCF, UCF might have gotten

one of the at-large bids. I know that it doesn’t look that way based on how the final CFP rankings shook out, but if the top 11 places in the ranking actually meant something, I don’t think voters (or a committee) would actually put 3-loss Auburn ahead of an undefeated UCF team.

Regardless, I don’t think we should re-shape the entire playoff system in an effort to avoid a scenario that has not happened even once in at least the last 20 seasons.
