Three weeks ago, before the Boise State game (which I reluctantly yet gratefully attended), I was starting to give up on Kalani. I admit it. I've always loved the guy but I had just about lost my confidence in him and was ready to entertain alternatives.
Then, back-to-back wins against 2 of our 3 rivals and my faith has essentially been restored. These two wins do not pardon the inexcusable losses to Toledo and especially USF, however I feel a renewed sense of confidence in Kalani's ability to lead the team to victory. It is obvious that the players genuinely love the guy and want to win for him (and for themselves and the fans). I sincerely hope we have seen his program turn a corner for the better. And if he wins out the year and competes well in a bowl game, I believe he is still the man for the job and should be extended another year for the recruiting advantage.
Just WIN. Winning solves or at least helps remedy the majority of challenges. For me, two solid wins took me from one end of the spectrum to the other. I know it isn't easy to win, but I like angry Kalani. Angry Kalani gets the job done. Go Cougs!
