1. I'm sort of sick of the Whittingham coaching tree. Part of me thinks it would be helpful to get a fresh start.
2. I recognize Hill is a bit more proven in that he has more years of HC. But I think Paul has done a great job at every turn, from coaching Brad Sorensen to setting records at Sac State to a very impressive run at Snow and then Dixie.
I like that he's an offensive minded coach, and a QB. In my view, for BYU to be good we absolutely have to have a good QB, so having someone who has played the position and coached the position is a big plus for me.
3. It's intangible, but I love Paul's energy. Look up a youtube interview with him. He's got a great personality, or at least a great public personality. Bronco and Kalani have shown that personality may not mean much, but it means something. He just seems like a leader to me.
All of that said, I think Jay Hill would be a great pick.
