My Rules for enjoying a musical
These are just mine.
1. Catchy Tunes
2. Needs to have a good pace
3. Needs some humor....can't be dour the ENTIRE time.
It other words, it needs to be fun. Not depressing and slow the whole way through.
I really enjoy a fun musical. Phantom and Les Miz have great music, but they don't fit my criteria for really enjoying a musical.

7 Brides is a terrible musical. Haven't seen Guys and Dolls, but if it's in the same vein, count me out.
